I don’t exactly have a hometown, but when asked where I grew up, Rolla, MO is generally my answer. I was recently back in Rolla visiting family and decided to take a small trip down part of Route 66. I met some Italians while traveling in Bosnia. They were traveling by motorcycle and mentioned that one day they wanted to drive across American on Route 66.

A little to the west of Rolla is the tiny town of Arlington. ┬áJust outside of Arlington is a house known as the Larry Baggett’s Trail of Tears Memorial.

Leaving Arlington, I passed another famous Route 66 destination, John Modern’s cabins.

Perhaps my favorite location is a random cabin in the woods near the Moose Lodge. I used to run cross country out past this cabin and always wanted to stop and check it out.
